Samuel Herbert

Hello and welcome.

My name is Sam - I'm a registered Mental Health Nurse and accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) - also trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). I offer online therapy sessions for adults over the age of 16, helping them to navigate common mental health difficulties such as anxiety and depression. As a fully accredited member of the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), I am accountable for delivering the highest quality therapy and keeping up to-date with best practices.

What does therapy involve?

1

Discovery Call

I can offer a free 15 minute phone consultation to discuss your current situation and explore your suitability for therapy. You can ask any questions that you might have before committing to booking any further sessions.

2

Initial Assessment

This session will last for up to 90 minutes and be used to get a detailed understanding of what it is you are struggling with and how it is impacting your life. We will then develop an individualised treatment plan based on your current goals.

3

Treatment Session

Subsequent treatment sessions will last for up to 50 minutes and repeat on a regular basis on a day and time that suits you. Typically, a good 'dose' of therapy will consist of 10-20 sessions although this will vary depending on each person.

My Approach to Therapy

I endeavour to bring warmth and compassion to every session, creating a safe space for you to be your authentic self. We will work collaboratively on your individual goals and at a pace that suits you. There is not a 'one-size-fits-all' approach when it comes to therapy, so every session will be tailored to you. I will also draw on a broad range of therapeutic approaches that fall under CBT including Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT).
